Sublimate is a 5th-order ambisonic fixed media work that was commissioned by Arizona State University’s School of Arts, Media, & Engineering for the 2022 PRISMS CONTEMPORARY MUSIC FESTIVAL. The work explores the manipulation of sound material created with small amplified objects (plastic combs, ratchets, wind-up toys), as well as radio interference, typewriters, and other found objects. Sublimate was premiered at The PRISMS Festival on Dec. 2nd, 2022 at 6pm & 9pm, and Dec. 3rd, 2022 at 2pm & 5pm.
Sublimate was revised and re-mixed for stereo playback in 2023, and was included in the Extended + Remastered release of MASS in 2024.
